Bill Chepell has over 20 years experience in credit risk management. He has held positions with global firms having worked in London and New York while based in Chicago. He has managed credit risk across multiple domiciles, financial instruments and industry sectors. Most recently, he manages a team of Risk Examiners and Credit Analysts at the Options Clearing Corporation. Previously, Bill was a Director – Credit Risk Management with Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking. He also managed a team of credit risk analysts focused on hedge fund clients at Newedge, a FINRA registered Broker-Dealer 50% owned by Societe Generale.
Prior to joining Newedge in 2008, he was the Deputy Global Counterparty Credit Manager at Calyon Financial, a Broker-Dealer subsidiary of Credit Agricole Bank. From 2001- 2005, Bill was a Senior Credit Analyst with Cargill Investor Services. Bill started his career within the Commercial Lending Department of First American Bank.
Bill Chepell graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and with a Master of Business Administration, Accounting concentration, from DePaul University. Additionally, Bill holds a Graduate Certificate of Applied Statistics from Penn State University and an Energy Risk Professional designation certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
